Journey Overview

days 1-3

Bergen, The Perfect Start

Bergen is one of Norway’s most characterful cities — a compact harbor town framed by seven mountains, with a UNESCO-listed wharf and a fish market that has been running since the 1200s. You arrive, meet your Local Host and fellow travelers, and settle in for a welcome dinner. The following day is devoted to the city: a guided tour of the Bryggen wharf district, the Fløibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen for sweeping views over the harbor and surrounding peaks, and a gondola ride to the summit of Mount Ulriken — the highest of Bergen’s seven mountains and a vantage point that puts the entire journey ahead into glorious perspective.

spend 2 nights at

Home Hotel Havnekontoret
Set in a beautifully restored harbourmaster’s building at the heart of Bergen’s waterfront, Home Hotel Havnekontoret blends maritime heritage with warm, contemporary design. The location is unbeatable — steps from Bryggen Wharf, the fish market, and the city’s most characterful streets. Rooms are thoughtfully designed with local touches, and the hotel’s relaxed atmosphere makes it feel less like a place to sleep and more like a genuine base for the city.

Ålesund — Art Nouveau and the World’s Most Famous Fjord

Ålesund is one of the most visually distinctive cities in Norway — rebuilt almost entirely in Art Nouveau style after a fire destroyed it in 1904, and set across a cluster of islands and peninsulas with the sea pressing in on all sides. A guided city tour explores the streets and harbor before a flight of 418 steps leads to the Aksla viewpoint for panoramic views over the city and surrounding fjords. The following day is devoted entirely to the Geirangerfjord — a UNESCO World Heritage Site of sheer cliff faces, cascading waterfalls, and abandoned mountain farms. The full-day cruise includes time ashore in Geiranger village, and the scenery makes every moment of the sailing count.

spend 2 nights at

Hotel Brosundet

Set right on Ålesund’s waterfront, Hotel Brosundet blends Art Nouveau architecture with modern elegance. Wake up to spectacular sea views, stroll Ålesund’s vibrant streets, and return to plush accommodations that highlight Norway’s unique coastal style. Relaxed luxury is everywhere.

The Peaks & Valleys of Åndalsnes

The Ålesund Archipelago occupies the morning — a guided island-hopping tour visiting Giske Island, birthplace of the Viking chieftain Rollo, and the fishing village of Alnes with its famous lighthouse and Atlantic views. A luxury coach then transfers the group to Åndalsnes. The following day covers two of the most dramatic landscapes in Norway in quick succession: Trollstigen, the legendary serpentine mountain road climbing through eleven hairpin bends above a cascade of waterfalls, and the Romsdalen Gondola, which lifts you above the valley for panoramic views across the fjord and surrounding peaks. Lunch is served at the scenic Eggen Café before an unhurried evening in Åndalsnes.

Trondheim, The Grand Finale

The Rauma Railway begins this morning in Åndalsnes, climbing through the Romsdalen valley past waterfalls, granite walls, and the vertical Trollveggen cliff face — one of the most dramatic stretches of railway in Europe. A connection at Dombås continues onward to Trondheim, Norway’s third city and one of its most compelling. The Hotel Britannia, a five-star landmark restored to extraordinary standard, has been the finest address in Trondheim since 1870. A full day follows: a guided waterfront tour taking in Nidaros Cathedral, the Old Town Bridge, and the colorful wooden warehouses lining the river, followed by a countryside bike excursion into the rolling farmland outside the city. The farewell dinner brings the journey to a close in exactly the right spirit.

Reflecting local hospitality through the finest amenities

Our travelers tell us that hotels are an integral part of their travel experiences. So, our staff handpicks each property for its unique character, local charm, and attention to detail. In our selection we treat comfort, location and service as “simply the basics,” so our vetting process goes well beyond that. Furthermore, our travelers tell us that they want boutique hotels. Not big, chain ones, because they want to be constantly reminded of the authenticity of the destination. Those hotels must reflect the region’s hospitality through their amenities and cultural touches. Therefore, we select hotels with the goal of making every night of your journey as remarkable as the days spent exploring.

Authentic Gratitude from SilverOpus Travelers

We Stand for More Savoring of Life

our values

Our Promise to You Rests on Four Pillars

Respect

Simply fundamental. All that we do must, first and foremost, ensure that our clients, our partners, our staff and all those who live in our destinations feel entirely respected. The land must be respected. Nature must be respected. The people must be respected. All people. Honesty, fairness, care and much more are joined in a foundation of respect for all.

Authenticity

We study our destinations to understand what characterizes its beauty and relevance. Then, we fill our programs with what is most authentic about those destinations. We showcase nature, cuisine, hospitality and cultural experiences which are most valued by locals, not what is determined by the travel industry as most sellable. It is our way to stay true to authenticity, to enrich our programs with it.

Exclusivity

Our tribe is at the heart of what we do, every day. So, we don’t attempt to appeal to all. Instead, we put our efforts into creating excellence for those who love seeing the world like our tribe does. This philosophy restricts our audience to an exclusive set of travelers, and we don’t fight that. We embrace it and give them our everything.

Happiness

We are very serious about our work, but we can’t forget why we travel. And we travel because it makes us happy, joyous. Happiness from the scenery we see, the foods we taste, the people we meet and even from the hiccups that become fun stories, later on. So, we never forget that our work, serious as it is, is here to make you happy.
