Stockholm to Helsinki. The Arctic in Between.
Nine days from Stockholm to Helsinki, with the Arctic in between. This program moves through four cities and four completely different luxury hotels — each one a destination in itself — while the experiences that connect them are unlike anything else in Lapland: a professional Northern Lights photography safari, a hands-on Sámi cultural immersion around a reindeer corral fire, glass-domed igloo suites above the Arctic Circle, and the original Icehotel, rebuilt every winter from the frozen Torne River. Sweden and Finland, bridged by the aurora. Cold outside, warm within, and a sky that earns every superlative it has ever received.
Expect cold. Leave warm. A brighter Arctic.

Journey Overview
days 1-2
Stockholm — Elegant Gateway to the North
Your journey begins in Stockholm — a city of royal palaces, medieval lanes, and waterways threading between fourteen islands. Your Local Host and fellow travelers are waiting at the hotel, and the welcome dinner that follows is the first of many shared tables on this program. One night in one of Stockholm’s finest hotels, beautifully positioned near the Royal Palace and the medieval streets of Gamla Stan. A city worth more time — and for those who want it, an optional city tour is available. Tomorrow, the flight north begins the real journey.

From Ice to Iron in Kiruna
Kiruna welcomes you with Arctic skies, soft snow, and stories carved in both ice and iron. After settling in, the evening becomes unforgettable: bundled up and camera ready, the group heads into the wilderness on a guided Northern Lights photography safari. The following day brings the Icehotel — rebuilt every winter from the frozen Torne River, its shimmering walls and sculpted chambers a genuinely surreal experience — and Jukkasjärvi village, where a traditional reindeer stew lunch and a visit to the Old Homestead museum offer a first taste of genuine Arctic life. A city tour then reveals Kiruna’s remarkable story: a place shaped by iron ore mining, space science, and Sámi culture, currently being physically relocated to save it from the subsiding ground beneath it. A day to explore at your own pace follows, with snowmobiling and snowshoe treks available for the adventurous.

Rovaniemi: Arctic Life Up Close
Deep in Sámi country, the group is welcomed into a traditional reindeer corral where hands-on traditions — herding, fire cooking, storytelling — unfold in the company of people whose relationship with this landscape spans thousands of years. Traditional food is shared around the fire before crossing into Finland and arriving at the Halo Igloos — glass-domed suites above the Arctic Circle, surrounded by pine forests and open skies, designed entirely for sleeping under the Northern Lights. The following day offers a choice of Finnish Lapland adventures: cross-country skiing through silent snow-covered forests, or a husky sled ride driven by a professional musher through the icy wilderness. The afternoon explores Rovaniemi’s cultural landmarks, with the option to cross the Arctic Circle at Santa Claus Village. As night falls, the glass dome above frames the sky.

A Finnish Farewell in Helsinki
A short flight south brings the group to Helsinki, where urban sophistication meets the Baltic Sea. The contrast with Lapland is immediate and welcome — the city’s compact, design-forward streets, frozen harbor, and warm interiors are a different kind of Nordic beauty. Hotel Haven, a boutique retreat beside the harbor, provides the perfect base. The afternoon is free to explore: Finnish design shops, the frozen waterfront, or a candlelit café as the winter light fades. A guided walking tour covers Helsinki’s most compelling landmarks — Senate Square’s neoclassical grandeur, the serene Esplanade, the extraordinary Oodi Central Library. At the same time it shares stories of design, sustainability, and daily life in a city that consistently ranks among the world’s most livable. The farewell dinner brings the journey to a close in exactly the right spirit.

Reflecting local hospitality through the finest amenities
Our travelers tell us that hotels are an integral part of their travel experiences. So, our staff handpicks each property for its unique character, local charm, and attention to detail. In our selection we treat comfort, location and service as “simply the basics,” so our vetting process goes well beyond that. Furthermore, our travelers tell us that they want boutique hotels. Not big, chain ones, because they want to be constantly reminded of the authenticity of the destination. Those hotels must reflect the region’s hospitality through their amenities and cultural touches. Therefore, we select hotels with the goal of making every night of your journey as remarkable as the days spent exploring.
Authentic Gratitude from SilverOpus Travelers
Our Promise to You Rests on Four Pillars
Respect
Simply fundamental. All that we do must, first and foremost, ensure that our clients, our partners, our staff and all those who live in our destinations feel entirely respected. The land must be respected. Nature must be respected. The people must be respected. All people. Honesty, fairness, care and much more are joined in a foundation of respect for all.
Authenticity
We study our destinations to understand what characterizes its beauty and relevance. Then, we fill our programs with what is most authentic about those destinations. We showcase nature, cuisine, hospitality and cultural experiences which are most valued by locals, not what is determined by the travel industry as most sellable. It is our way to stay true to authenticity, to enrich our programs with it.
Exclusivity
Our tribe is at the heart of what we do, every day. So, we don’t attempt to appeal to all. Instead, we put our efforts into creating excellence for those who love seeing the world like our tribe does. This philosophy restricts our audience to an exclusive set of travelers, and we don’t fight that. We embrace it and give them our everything.
Happiness
We are very serious about our work, but we can’t forget why we travel. And we travel because it makes us happy, joyous. Happiness from the scenery we see, the foods we taste, the people we meet and even from the hiccups that become fun stories, later on. So, we never forget that our work, serious as it is, is here to make you happy.
